October 9th,

What a day we had at the last Wednesday Market of the 2014 season! Extreme winds, bitter cold, cloudy, sunny and heavy rain for about 15 min...was certainly a bit of everything! Due to the wind we had to line the majority of the vendors up along the Museum wall in order to be able to set the tents up!

Thanks to those awesome customers who stopped by one last time, we THANK YOU!!!

Busker Jon Carter stopped by but he wasn't able to stay due to the weather, thank you Jon for taking the time to come by to see if it was possible for you to play!

These hard working vendors understand the commitment they make when they sign on as vendors...RAIN OR SHINE! It is for that reason they are especially thankful to all their loyal customers who donned their rain gear, grabbed the umbrella and ventured out to shop at the Market...regardless of the weather! You make the vendors day!!!

September 22,

Surprisingly Saturday didn't turn out too badly...yes, it poured, it was very unpleasant at times with strong winds and we had a couple of major wind episodes, I say episodes as they lasted for a longer time period than what I expect when I think of wind gusts. One first thing in the morning and the second mid morning, making for a trying day. Having said that we still had our awesome customers stop by for their weekly fix of veggies, or what ever product enticed them to attend on Saturday! You have to hand it to these customers...the vendors thank them from the bottom of their collective hearts! Seriously, those people who suit up and venture to the Market make the vendors' day...thank you!!!

To the vendors at the Market on Saturday, thank you for taking the day in stride, your commitment helps to make the Market what it is!

After Saturday there is only 3 more markets left...not much time for you to pick up that special something for your self or as a gift...

If you are looking for something unique visit Kim Rainville of Ewe Again! In Kim's words, Ewe Again began with cold feet...hers, and a shrunken sweater! She made a cozy pair of slippers and now makes a multitude of items out of recycled wool sweaters, leather, linen and old buttons, she also does texture acrylic paintings. Kim is a new occasional vendor to the Market this season, she does both the Wednesday and Saturday Markets, space permitting. Kim will be on hand this Saturday, September 20th, stop by for a visit!

All events are subject to change...

September 12th,
I'm sure you are aware this Saturday, September 13th is scheduled to be our first ever Kids' Day and with all events subject to change!

Everyone is aware the Market is always Rain or Shine!

As of right now the weather forecast is showing 88% chance of rain... for Saturday, while the Market itself will definitly be OPEN, regardless of the weather, rain doesn't make for a great Kids' Day as the events organized don't work well in the rain! So this is just a heads up that we are patiently waiting to see what the weather brings, and we may reschedule Kids' Day!

Check out the Facebook page tomorrow for further updates!

Yesterday was awesome, while the clouds looked threatening, the rain held off until around 4:30pm and then began to drizzle off and on until about 5:00pm, then it began a light rain. While no one wants to get wet at anytime, rain at the end of the Market is definitly preferred to first thing or an all day rain...so for that we were thankful!

This Wednesday, August 27th, we will have two entertainers...Nick Cangiano, noon to 2:30p, who has busked at the Market a number of times. This is going to b his last time as he will be returning to school very soon. He is self taught, sings and plays the guitar and ukelele...since last winter! Stop by to see Nick his tunes are great.

The second busker is Josh Dimmel, this will be Josh's first time at the North Bay Farmers' Market. I know Josh plays around town so if you are looking for a chance to hear him, this is it!

This is what Josh says about himself...Josh is a rock artist from North Bay, who for the past 11 years has dedicated every ounce of energy into playing solo, with bands, live, jamming and recording. He first hit the stage when he was 14 in his first rock band and plans to do it until he can't anymore. With an album coming out this fall called "Paranoid Reality" he plans on spreading it as far as possible. Josh has been playing in and out of North Bay for years. He lives off of one quote he created several years back; "Enter Undiscovered & Leave With An Impact". Bio and photo courtesy of Josh.

The 3rd Annual Garlic Festival is just around the corner...are you ready for the pungent aroma and spicy taste of fresh garlic?

If you haven’t tried fresh garlic now is your chance… there will be an abundance. For those not familiar, fresh uncooked garlic is more aromatic and spicy, compared to fresh roasted garlic which is sweeter and milder in flavor. Your tastes determines how you use it.

It was great our customers were able to shop, visit with friends and vendors, and listen to the sounds of Bob Barraclough who was able to play the whole Market, so for all this we were very thankful!
